How are you feeling? The year has come to a close, and mentally, we’re already in 2024.
It’s been a memorable year at McDonald’s with the special menu at McDonald’s and a lot of smilestones (geddit?!) in between, and we are reflecting on the joyous things that made McDonald’s a happy place for so many throughout the year. We made you a video, but just for the record, this is a roundup of our 2023 highlights, including the things that made the McDonald’s special menu too. Let us tell you every smile and every occasion mattered to us.
- We launched the Chicken Big Mac® with 11 layers of goodness. Real Tower material that kickstarted the McDonald’s special menu. Cricket legend, Virender Sehwag helped us launch it – we needed a star, after all, to launch ours! ;-)
- We had a dedicated cheese menu for all our cheese-loving fans and friends: from the McCheese Burger® to the Cheesy Veg McNuggets® to the Cheesy Italian Burgers.
- We had the spirited Rashmika Mandanna assist us in the launch of our Piri Piri range of McSpicy™ Burgers & Wraps in the most expressive #DontExplainJustEnjoy way. Telugu cinema superstar Jr. NTR Jr. joined in too to declare our McSpicy™ Chicken Sharers to our Indian communities, using no words – just expressions. #YouDontExplainJustShare was our motto, and they nailed it!
- McDonald’s India’s First 24×7 Airport Drive Thru in Mumbai was launched, fulfilling the unspoken dreams of many a wandering traveler, slurp!
- We collaborated with 9XM and BrandMusiq to bring together musical ethos from across the country – redefining Pa Ra Pa Pa Pa, on the occasion of Independence Day 2023
- We got book treats in our Happy Meal® boxes, thanks to our partnering with author Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, creator of the ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ series. The picture-books in our Happy Meal® boxes titled ‘I Can’ are bite-sized and filled with inspirational stories and messages featuring prominent figures in art, culture, film, and history.
- We amped up the cricket cheer for some lucky customers that ordered through the McDelivery® App and McDelivery® website during the Indian Premier League 2023 and 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup seasons.
- Pikachu, the most searched Pokémon (accordingly to Google), found a way into our hearts and Happy Meal® boxes in 2023 as we introduced the Happy Meal® Pokémon Box for our kids to celebrate.
- We celebrated Navaratri in our own way as we launched 9 divine different offers for each day during the 9-day celebration in October 2023.
- We made booking a party (birthday and other-occasion-wise) super easy, this year, with our Happy Birthday Portal on the McDonald’s website, B’DAY PARTY.
- When McDonald’s is your go-to, we knew we had a fun thing to do! That is, by offering #TrulyValuable discounts to make our trusty McSaver Meals even more favored, by you.
- We got to the root of the matter, making our meals more inclusive for all communities featuring the McDonald’s Jain Friendly Menu with recipes containing No Onion, No Garlic, No Roots, and McDonald’s Shravan Special Meal – that has No Onion, No Garlic in the preparations and meals.
- We welcomed everyone’s nostalgia favorite, Cadbury GEMS as a partner to our McFlurry™ desserts menu making it a colorful smilestone for many! Our favorite chocolate wafer friend, KITKAT made our desserts menu a hit too.
