March 8, being a remarkably special day – we wished to add to the conversation too. From our families to the communities we’re a part of, including our work-spaces – women are at the forefront, centre, behind the scenes, ABLY running many shows, from the kitchen to the boardroom.
They are #1s in our eyes, overcoming daily challenges that aren’t often highlighted. Today, with the world, as we celebrate Women’s Day, we continue to pledge our support and intended measures for the growth and well-being of our women – in our families and work-teams. 💪🏽
On that pumped up note, we’d like to talk about our first-ever women-led restaurant in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat
Yes, we have one of those, did you know?! Situated in the vicinity of one of the tallest statues in the world – the Statue of Unity in Gujarat IS McDonald’s Ekta Nagar restaurant. Opened 3 years ago, this McDonald’s India restaurant has an all-female restaurant staff and the cheeriest vibes, goes without saying, right?
On a serious note, while this store makes McDonald’s fans in the area truly happy, what makes the store special is our female restaurant staff. They come from nearby villages, from small communities. These women are pathbreakers in their families – learning independence, becoming financially secure, and experiencing pride in their personal progress and at work too.
Trained to work with us at McDonald’s India, these women bring their secret sauce to the McDonald’s table: great attitude, integrity, openness, super service, understanding, and a willingness to learn.

From job satisfaction to financial independence in her city to working at a really cool place with all-female colleagues, this is a dream come true for a young Indian woman like Neeta Tadvi.
