Happy Gudi Padwa!
Spring is in the air everywhere, and so are the ‘cheerful celebrations!’
Gudi Padwa is a spring festival that marks the New Year for the Marathi and Konkani communities in Maharashtra, Goa, and Daman. Gudi Padwa means the first day of the bright phase of the moon, and part of the merry-making includes making rangolis at home, and lighting a gudi dvaja as is custom. The gudi dvaja is a sari or dhoti cloth adorned with garlands of flowers, mango fruits and neem leaves, and gathi (a garland made of sugar crystals), all topped with an upturned silver or copper vessel.
Like most Indian festivals, Gudi Padwa includes everyone – there’s gathering of people on the streets, dancing, and eating festive foods too. At McDonald’s, we understand that sentiment all too well. What’s any merriment without yummy food? ???? ????
Gudi Padwa and some good-y treats with offers using McDonald’s exciting deals, on the McDonald’s app or McDelivery app. It’s a good idea, right?
