These are the times when every little effort to help people counts. Over the past two weeks, McDonald’s India (South & West), in association with various NGOs and organizations, has helped frontline workers, daily-wage earners, and people dwelling in less-privileged areas with food and beverage distribution. This time, McDonald’s joined hands with Paytm, India’s leading digital payments & financial services platform, to distribute safe and hygienic food to health care workers in Mumbai.
Someone rightly said recently that if a story on the coronavirus pandemic is written, the healthcare workers will be the heroes. While the rest of us are also playing our roles in saving the world by staying at home, the healthcare workers have gone above and beyond their call of duty to save as many people as they can. As a small token of gratitude towards these frontline warriors, McDonald’s and Paytm together distributed close to 600 McDonald’s burgers at Cooper Hospital, Juhu, on 12th April. As always, the food distribution was done in a safe and contactless manner.
McDonald’s has so far reached out to people in cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad. In all these initiatives, McDonald’s has made sure to follow every safety measure to ensure the safety and protection of everyone around.
Everyone has a role to play in the nation-wide fight against the pandemic. And we at McDonald’s hope to serve our nation by providing food to those in need.
