Believe it or not, the lyrics of Beatles’ most famous song – Yesterday – began as an ode to scrambled eggs! Even though the world knows how much the British love their eggs – especially with bacon – for breakfast, it’s hard to imagine how the hit quartet could dream of penning a tune inspired by the egg. Yet, there it is.

The story goes that the Yesterday melody came to Paul McCartney in a dream, and as soon as he woke up, he didn’t want to forget it. So, he sang, “Scrambled Eggs, oh, my baby, how I love your legs…” Later, of course, John Lennon rephrased the words as Yesterday, All my troubles seemed so far away… and the Beatles had a good laugh about the choice of words.

However, it’s a fact that the world loves its scrambled eggs. Who doesn’t love waking up to the fragrance of eggs being whipped in a pan for breakfast? Though known by another name and with quintessential masala ingredients, the anda bhurjee is what takes one back to childhood.

Westlife Development, which runs McDonald’s India (West & South), has created a menu to satisfy this craving for something nostalgic as well as something excitingly international by launching the Masala Scrambled Egg (very Indian) and the Classic Scrambled Egg (very British).

The new menu was launched in 44 outlets across Mumbai on 13th January 2017 to begin with, before it is extended to other cities and towns in West and South India. What’s more, it’s also available for McDelivery, so that one can enjoy it in the comfort of one’s home early in the morning.

So, go ahead and order Scrambled Eggs, Masala or Classic. That way, not only will you have a deliciously different breakfast but also beat any “Hangry” mood at the source.
