Sure, some people have friends and family, but James Franco had McDonald’s. The “Spider-Man” star had put pen to paper to wax poetic about his longtime love for golden arches and as remembrance of his tenure as a McDonald’s employee, something of a love letter to the company.
Back in his early days when he was a college dropout living on a couch in Los Angles, he had few employment options. Step forward, McDonald’s where Franco worked behind the counter, starting off on the late-night drive thru shift and went on to progression while successfully moving up in the ranks to the front counter.
“I was treated fairly well at McDonald’s,” the star wrote of his time at the fryer. “If anything, they cut me slack. And, just like their food, the job was more available there than anywhere else. When I was hungry for work, they fed the need.”
Though he’s now an obvious Hollywood success, James Franco say that he will forever be grateful for his time working at McDonald’s He went nostalgic as he explained that he “wore a purple visor and purple polo shirt” with the classic headset while working the late shift drive-thru position which not only turned out to be just a financial necessity but it allowed him to practice various accents, including “Brooklyn-ese,” Italian, British, Irish, Russian and Southern.
