McDonald's India

It is often said that one should breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dine like a pauper. Named for the meal that ‘breaks the fast’, after an average eight hour break since the last meal, breakfast has been acknowledged by scientists, fitness experts and dietitians as the most important meal of the day. So why is it so important? Here are three reasons you should never skip your breakfast:

  • Breakfast kick starts your brain – it restores glucose levels, an essential carbohydrate that is needed for the brain to function and hence helps improve your attention, mental performance and memory – giving you a head start to the day ahead!
  • Skipping breakfast doesn’t help keep the pounds off your waist – actually it is the opposite! People who skip breakfast regularly have higher BMIs (body mass index) than breakfast eaters, as wholesome breakfast has a combination of carbs, proteins and minerals that will keep you from snacking often or gorging on a heavy lunch to fuel up for the day.
  • Breakfasts typically provide several important vitamins and minerals that other meals don’t. Grab an egg for breakfast to load up on proteins and important minerals like choline and vitamin D!
